Chief People Officer – New Zealand Cricket
We’re a passionate and enthusiastic team, committed to living and breathing our vision of cricket being a game for all New Zealanders; a game for life!
New Zealand Cricket (NZC) is focused on ensuring that cricket is a game without barriers – a game that can be played anywhere, by anyone. Whatever their individual circumstances, New Zealanders will be given every reason to celebrate and engage with cricket as their game.
We have a high-performance culture, underpinned by great people, systems and facilities helping to produce BLACKCAPS and WHITE FERNS that inspire the nation and represent the best of New Zealand’s values and culture. NZC takes a global approach and perspective to all our activities to better the game in New Zealand.
We are on the search for a dynamic and experienced Chief People Officer to join our team and lead the People & Culture function to help ensure NZC’s people are the best they can be to deliver on our strategy.
Based in Auckland or Lincoln, this is an exciting opportunity that will see the CPO as a member of NZC's Senior Leadership Team (SLT), responsible for leading the development, enhancement and execution of the People & Culture strategy in support of NZC’s overall business plan specifically in the areas of recruitment and retention, performance management, training and development, well-being, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, remuneration, health and safety and policy development.
The CPO provides leadership by articulating P&C needs and plans to the SLT, Remuneration People & Culture Committee (RPCC) and Board of NZC (as required). The CPO will work closely with the SLT and RPCC to make culture a strong component of NZC’s overall strategy and will ensure the behaviors across the organization support the strategic direction.
Extensive HR experience across the full spectrum of activities including strategy development and implementation, operations, organizational development, employment relations and change and analysis.
Well planned and organized, strong attention to detail, key stakeholder focus.
Excellent relationship management, and being able to adapt style to circumstances.
Highly motivated, with the energy and ambition to make a difference and the personal drive to learn and grow.
Outstanding interpersonal, written and oral communication and presentation skills.
Have a broad knowledge of, and interest in, the cricket and sport environment, with a desire to building understanding through working collaboratively across the NZC network.
