Government Relations and Public Policy Advisor
In this newly created role SACA is seeking an experienced Government Relations and Public Policy Advisor to join our team. This role will work collaboratively across the business to develop, coordinate and direct public policy and government relations activity with a focus on developing and maintaining relationships with Government and identifying grant and funding opportunities.
- Develop plans and support advocacy to secure investment for key projects and programs of significance for South Australian Cricket to support SACA’s strategic goals.
- Develop high level documentation for the Chief Executive as required to advocate for funding and support of priority projects and the ongoing need to invest in cricket.
- Prepare and execute government and public policy communication plans.
- Proactively identify and analyse state and federal government sport issues within South Australia providing advice and counsel to SACA and Cricket Australia staff.
General understanding of grant funding programs at all levels of government.
Experience in working in executive government at federal, state or local government level or as a government relations adviser dealing externally with government, ideally with knowledge of the sports industry.
Experience in managing government policy and strategy.
Ability to develop presentations and influence high-level decision makers through highly developed communication skills.
Experience in developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships.
Proven ability to work independently and apply problem solving and time management skills to ensure deliverables are provided to both internal and external stakeholders within tight timeframes.
Exceptional work ethic including the ability to prioritise work commitments and operate collaboratively in a multi-team environment.
You will hold a valid Working with Children Check or have the ability to obtain one.
