
Head of Seniors Cricket Coaching – Old Rutlishian’s CC
Old Rutlishian’s Cricket Club a.k.a ‘Old Ruts’ was founded in 1908 and has been the centre of cricket in the leafy suburb of Merton Park in Wimbledon for well over 100 years. Our senior players regularly field five teams on a Saturday, two on a Sunday and our juniors section provides cricket for over 450 youngsters starting with All Stars all the way through to U18s
Our club is inclusive, friendly and fun with a passion to inspire children to love cricket. Our coaches are enthusiastic in there approach providing a high quality of coaching with great facilities.
This is a crucial role in the club working along side our Juniors Head Coach, Eranga Mendis.
The candidate would be a minimum level 2 coach and have proven experience of coaching groups of between 10-30 individuals . The individual must be a competent cricketer capable of batting and playing in the ORCC First Team .
The club will commit up front to both a full winter and summer coaching programme which will include school holiday camps and the opportunity for 1-2-1 coaching all year round. Opportunities also exist with our close relationship with Rutlish School and local primary School, in supporting the provision of delivering cricket in the curriculum.
Responsibilities:
To play in the First X1 (Top order bat )
To lead all adult coaching
To improve the quality of cricketers across the club. Improve the quality of coaching delivered across the club.
To help transitioning from Juniors to Adult Cricket
To coach for 5 days a week for 15 weeks summer coaching
To Coach for 4 days a week for 18 weeks winter coaching
To coach Junior sections working alongside Juniors Head coach Eranga Mendis .
To manage the volunteers & young leaders across the coaching sessions.
