Background

 

The club, founded in 1737 is one of the oldest cricket clubs in the country. Over the last 10 years, we have significantly rejuvenated our junior section to provide cricket for children aged 5-15.

 

Our club prides itself on being able to offer excellent coaching and playing opportunities to it’s junior members, supporting them in enjoying the game and keeping them involved with the club with the aim of them later ‘graduating’ into senior cricket.

 

With the growth that we have experienced with our junior cricket, we believe that now is the right time to bring in extra coaching resource for the summer and beyond.

 

 

 

Roles and Responsibilities

 

  • Plan and lead Sunday morning coaching sessions for boys and girls age groups as assigned
  • Work with club’s director of cricket to devise a summer coaching plan for boys and girls at the club, starting in April 2024.
  • Continue to support and grow our young players love of the game, giving the club the best chance of retaining them into senior cricket in the future
  • Be an advocate for the club and it’s desire to have one of the best junior sections around

 

 

Skills and Experience

 

  • ECB Level 2 Coaching Qualification (now Core Coach)
  • Good technical coaching knowledge

Safeguarding and Compliance

 

The successful candidate must hold a valid DBS and Safeguarding Young Cricketers qualification and must adhere to the club’s Code of Conduct for members and coaches.
