Northern Territory Cricket – Head of Clubs and Competitions

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this newly created senior management role will have oversight of clubs and competitions across Darwin, Katherine, Tennant Creek and Alice Springs regions. The Head of Clubs and Competitions will primarily focus on leading, managing, administering and developing the Darwin and Districts Cricket Competition (DDCC) - including Senior, Women’s and Junior divisions.

An experienced operations leader with a strong understanding of the community sport environment, you will make an impact by delivering a professional and exceptionally well-run DDCC, offering great experiences, growing participation, and driving increased commercial sponsorship and revenue.

The role will determine the structure of competitions, formats and scheduling, as well as setting the rules and regulations that govern competitions. In addition, administering all financial, communications, competition management systems and disciplinary matters. The candidate will also play a key role in supporting the growth and development of local clubs within a national framework, including in the areas of governance, funding, member protection, volunteers and facilities.

The Head of Clubs and Competitions will be expected to successfully navigate both the strategic and operational, with an appetite and desire to get their hands dirty in the day-to-day activities of the competition. No job too big or too small. A 'get the job done' mentality!

The role will sit alongside the - Head of Cricket and Pathways, Head of Facilities, and Head of Events, Communications and Marketing - ensuring that there is strong alignment of key strategic pillars of the game across the Northern Territory.

Required Skills & Experience
Relevant tertiary qualification in Sports Administration or Sports Management.
Minimum three (3) to five (5) years' experience in the sports industry or related field.
Demonstrated experience managing competitions and events.
Display strategic planning and implementation capabilities, including under high-pressure circumstances.
Showcase advanced communication and interpersonal skills, backed by solid commercial acumen and negotiation abilities.
Showcase advanced stakeholder management and relationship building skills.
Display innovation and adaptability, willing to challenge norms and drive change.
Exceptional eye for detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in your work.
