Introduction

Ealing Trailfinders Cricket Club (ETCC) is seeking to secure an Adult Head Coach before the start of pre-season training for the 2025 season.

ETCC is based in Ealing, West London and has 4 senior men’s teams in the Middlesex County Cricket League and 10 junior age group teams. ETCC currently has approx. 55 senior and 140 junior members.

ETCC is proud to be part of the Trailfinders family of sports clubs including Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Club, an English Rugby Championship winner, the Ealing Trailfinders Foundation and other sports franchises. We boast probably the best indoor and outdoor playing and practice facilities within Middlesex.

We are looking to hire an experienced coach who is qualified to minimum UKCC2 (ideally UKCC3) or equivalent and holds enhanced DBS and first aid certificate.

Nature and Objectives of the Role

We are looking for an individual who shares the ethos of the Club to encourage participation and motivate players to fulfil their potential and enjoying playing hard, competitive cricket but in the right spirit.

The ideal candidate would have coaching background and excellent playing credentials.

The objectives of the role are to:

  • Establish a strategy for engagement with the Club’s adult members and local community to improve availability and participation.
  • Manage all 1st XI matches with appropriate warm ups and deliver pre and post-match briefings. Support the on-field captain with tactics/game plans.
  • Plays a lead role in attracting and recruiting adult players to the club, including overseas and ex-first class players.
  • Establish and manage an effective adult selection process to ensure the strongest teams are played whilst balancing the needs of individual players.
  • Plan and run a complete programme of adult coaching activities for the winter and summer appropriate for the skill levels of the participants.
  • Create an environment in the adult section where training and personal development is linked to, and fundamental to, success on the pitch
  • Work with the Club’s management team to establish the best possible coaching and playing environment for senior members and help take the Club to the next level in terms of ability, organisation and management.
  • Lead, inspire and motivate the players and coaching team, setting in place the standards and processes to ensure coaches are continually improving and delivering high quality coaching on a consistent basis.
  • Collaborate with the Junior Head Coach to ensure that talented players are identified early and given the coaching and development to fulfil their potential building a pathway for success in senior cricket.
  • Work with senior team captains to ensure that juniors are properly managed as they enter adult cricket and are given the best opportunities to develop their game, and that senior players make the best use of practice sessions to improve their skills.
