Role Description
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who is passionate about developing the participation & growth of the game and widening access to cricket at all levels. A team player with excellent communication, coaching and organisational skills who is also able to work well on their own. You will be passionate and knowledgeable with a desire to learn whilst delivering opportunities for development across the game.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The Community Coach will be responsible for:
Chance to Shine & National Programmes:
- Make contact with schools and plan a coaching timetable around the individual school’s requirements.
- Deliver the CtS offers of either the Whole School Programme (Full term) or Cricket Engagement Days (Full day) in Primary and Secondary Schools setting.
- Offer & deliver as many facets of the Whole School Programme as possible – to include Assembly, Play, Teach, Compete, Play Ground Leaders & Extra Curriculum – up to 36 hours per school.
- Encourage all schools’ to attend Lincolnshire Cricket skill festivals, competitions & any other activities.
- Create community links with schools’ & local clubs.
- Encourage exit routes to local clubs for National Programmes & Junior options.
- Understand & deliver your planned & agreed work program.
- Understand how your work program links to our County Wide Plan.
Community Engagement:
To assist Lincolnshire Cricket’s, Participation and Growth team in the development of activity that seeks to grow the game and enables cricket the opportunity to reach new audiences.
This may include –
- Activity specifically targeted at engaging women’s and/or girls
- Disability cricket delivery
- Walking cricket
- Street Clubs – Activity targeted at communities that may be classed as ‘hard to reach’. This may be based on factors such as rurality, socio-economic status, population demographic etc
Performance:
- To provide coaching support during the summer ‘match play’ programme to the performance delivery team.
- Each Community Coach will be expected to provide coaching support across 10 days of the summer ‘match play’ performance programme.
- Dates to be agreed between Head of Performance, Head of Participation and Community Coach.
Administration:
To undertake relevant administration work needed when working in the above mentioned areas.
