We’re seeking a dynamic, proactive and detail-orientated Events Manager to join our Events team and help us take our events to the next level. Could this be you?
Our Ideal Person
You love sport, the challenge of event management and the responsibility that comes with planning and working to deliver outstanding events to tight deadlines. You’re experienced in event management, with excellent attention to detail and driven to succeed. At the same time, you’re a people person and a team player with the ability to establish rapport and build trust with a wide range of stakeholders across the Major Associations (MAs), venues, councils, national teams, match officials, partners, sponsors and suppliers.
About the Role
The Events Manager leads event planning and stakeholder collaboration. Working across all international events from confirmed schedule through to post-event review, the role is a primary relationship manager for venues hosting BLACKCAPS, WHITE FERNS, warm-up and A-Tour matches.
As a key relationship manager for all stakeholders involved in the delivery of NZC venues and events, this role will liaise with MA’s, venue authorities, local councils, partners, sponsors and suppliers. The role will be supportive of continuous review and evolution of processes and procedures to improve stakeholder integration as well as broaden the current Event Delivery Model process.
The Events Manager is always available to support and manage where required; season launches, commercial sponsor events, team appearances, corporate hospitality and the annual NZC Awards night.
Key Responsibilities
To help you get a flavor for this career building opportunity, key responsibilities for the Events Manager role include:
- Project Planning – You’ll lead project planning and event delivery for specific work streams and dedicated venues across BLACKCAPS, WHITE FERNS, warm-up and A-Tour matches as well as other related events. This means travelling around New Zealand and being away from home for significant periods of time over the cricket season, depending on the International playing schedule.
- Relationship and Contractor Management – Manage positive collaboration with all stakeholders involved in the delivery of NZC venues and events, acting as a primary relationship manager to the assigned venue stakeholders
- Event Delivery and Operations – Strategically and operationally supports the Head of Events with planning and delivery of assigned event workstreams. Ensures all assigned venue events are delivered in line with agreed expectations and service levels as set out by NZC.
