About Us:
Cheadle Cricket Club is a historic community club in Staffordshire with a vibrant and diverse membership. We are committed to fostering talent and passion for the game at all levels, from juniors to seniors. We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and qualified Head Coach to lead our coaching program and develop players across all age groups and skill levels (ranging from under 10s to Senior 1st XI).
Cheadle Cricket Club boasts a blossoming junior section and 5 Senior weekend teams in the North Staffs and South Cheshire Cricket League. 2025 will see Cheadle Cricket Club have state a state of the art 3 lane net installed ready for the season.
This Head Coach vacancy is for 2025 and will happily be extended dependant on performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coaching Leadership:
o Develop and implement coaching plans for all teams, from juniors to seniors.
o Lead weekly training sessions for different age groups, focusing on skills development, fitness, and tactical awareness.
o Provide one-on-one coaching to individual players when needed to enhance performance.
o Work closely with team captains to plan match-day strategies and team selections.
• Player Development:
o Identify and nurture young talent, promoting a clear pathway for progression from junior to senior levels.
o Ensure all players receive tailored coaching to help them develop their technical and mental skills.
o Encourage a positive team environment, promoting respect, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.
• Team Management & Communication:
o Collaborate with club officials, parents, and players to maintain clear communication around training schedules, matches, and player development plans.
o Provide regular feedback to players on their performance and areas for improvement.
• Safety & Compliance:
o Ensure coaching practices adhere to health and safety guidelines, safeguarding policies, and the ECB coaching standards.
o Stay updated on all relevant coaching certifications and attend mandatory training programs as required by the club and county cricket board.
• Club Development:
o Contribute to the overall development of the club by attending regular meetings and sharing input on long-term strategic plans.
o Support club initiatives, including community engagement programs and fundraising events.
Hours & Availability:
• Approximately 10-15 hours per week, including evening and weekend sessions. Friday night is an essential requirement due to Junior Practice night.
• Flexibility to adjust hours based on match schedules and club requirements.
• Winter nets will also start from Jan 2025 indoors with 2 evenings per week for juniors and senior sessions.
