Performance Physiotherapist –Essex Women

Main Duties:
The Performance Physiotherapist will demonstrate good clinical skills and bring experience of
working in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and sport environments. Embedding an ethos and
culture within the Essex Women’s pathway that supports all players to reach their maximum
potential.

  • To provide high quality physiotherapy and support across the Essex Women’s
    programme.
  • To lead the physiotherapy provision for cricketers within the Essex Women 2nd Team &
    Academy.
  • To deliver triage and relevant recovery prescription to cricketers across Essex Women’s
    Emerging Player Programme, U18 & U15 County Age Groups.
  • To work collaboratively with the wider multi-disciplinary team support player performance
    and associated development goal.
  • To lead and champion local and ECB led clinical/performance/research projects.
  • To work collaboratively with the Lead Physiotherapist to ensure high standards of medical
    governance.
  • To work collaboratively with ECB and other relevant staff to co-manage players across
    pathways.
  • To actively participate in the ECB’s Science and Medicine Review process
  • Communicate non-confidential headline availability and fitness status information with
    relevant coaches, delivery staff, Head of Talent Development & Performance Director.
  • Effectively manage internal and external medical record-keeping standards, ensuring they
    maintained at a satisfactory level as per HCPC guidelines and are entered on to the ECB’s
    Injury Management Database.
  • Undertake research projects designed to further the knowledge and understanding of
    female athletes and cricketers, providing Essex Women with the platform to deliver cutting
    edge athlete support.
  • Undertake appropriate professional development to keep abreast of world’s best practice
    and current evidence-based research.
  • Facilitate and participate in promotional or commercial activities with sponsors as
    required by Essex Cricket and partners.
  • Support Essex Cricket’s partnerships and collaborations by sharing knowledge, developing
    best practice and promoting the ambitions of the club.
  • Strive to achieve the best possible performance results considering their job description
    and associated responsibilities.
  • Set a good example to all in conjunction with the Staff Handbook.
  • Develop their knowledge and attend relevant training to maintain their understanding of
    EDI and Safeguarding on an organisational and programme level.
  • Actively pursue a professional development programme as agreed annually with the
    Performance Director.
  • At times there may be other commitments that fall outside the stated Job Description that
    may be asked of by the Performance Director, Head of Talent Development, Lead
    Physiotherapist and other colleagues.

Essential
• Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the
Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP)
• Undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy
• Experience of working independently as a qualified physiotherapist within musculoskeletal
physiotherapy
• Experience of working within a sports performance environment
• Current advanced trauma management and emergency care accreditation (or ability to
complete)
• Full Driving License
• DBS Certificate -A disclosure is an impartial and confidential document that details an

from working with children.

Desirable
• Experience of working within a sports performance environment
• Experience of working with adolescent females
• Strength & Conditioning (or related) qualification
