Job Specification
Steelbacks In The Community are looking to appoint a part time Cricket coach to support the delivery on
our Chance to Shine Street Cricket Projects. You’ll be coaching alongside a Steelbacks in the Community
staff member each week and required to help plan and deliver the sessions.

Steelbacks In The Community is the Governing Body for recreational cricket in Northamptonshire,
delivering services in support of the cricket community across the county. It is one of 39 County Cricket
Boards/Foundations in England & Wales, and works in partnership with a number of key stakeholders to
develop the recreational game locally in line with the strategy developed by the England & Wales Cricket
Board (ECB).

Chance to Shine Street Cricket
Chance to Shine is a national charity that aims to give all children the opportunity to play, learn and
develop through cricket.
Chance to Shine Street is a community based project and brings cricket to thousands of young people
who traditionally face barriers to getting active. It uses the sport to increase aspiration, promote social
cohesion and create opportunities in diverse communities and areas of deprivation.
The projects are run continuously throughout the year and will move inside or outside depending on the
weather. Street projects are run national and Chance to Shine host regional and national competition
which we would look to enter.

Required Skills & Experience

• ECB Foundation 1 coaching qualification as a minimum
• Applicants must have a valid ECB Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate
• Valid Safeguarding Young Cricketers
• Experience of delivering Cricket to children aged 8 to 15 years old.
• Applicants must have access to transport to travel to the sessions

Excellent communication skills, enthusiastic and inspiring when delivering to children and young people
• To have a valid First Aid Certificate undertaken in the last 3 years
