Cricket Wellington and New Zealand Cricket are seeking expressions of interest for the role of Performance Physiotherapist with Cricket Wellington Association’s Women’s Team (Wellington Blaze).
The contract opportunity is a part-time role from 7th October 2024 through to 7th March 2025 and is based in Wellington. You will be required to travel with the team for all matches and trainings (home and away) during the October to March period.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ post graduate experience, ideally with some time spent delivering physiotherapy support within an environment with high performance sport/athlete involvement or in a national level team lead physiotherapist role.
The Physiotherapist will be expected to:
- Be available for team training, camps and internal touring schedule.
- Co-ordinate and manage all player treatment and monitoring, in conjunction with the Wellington Blaze Strength and Conditioning Coach.
- Liaise with the Wellington Head of Performance, Wellington Coaches, and Sports Science and Medicine team over medical, welfare and injury issues.
- Liaise with NZC medical staff and collect data as required for their injury surveillance requirements
- Input data into the NZC Athlete Management System database
Our ideal applicant will:
- Be a New Zealand registered physiotherapist
- Be able to communicate effectively with elite athletes of all ages
- Have a good knowledge of Strength and Conditioning programmes
- Have previous experience working with sporting organisations or teams
- Have strong administrative and organisational skills
- Have the ability to assume some management responsibilities when travelling with the team.
