Main Purpose of Job:
The Senior Women’s Physiotherapist is responsible for delivering a first-class physiotherapy and rehabilitation support service to our Senior Women’s team. The role requires managing the physiotherapy case load and creating strong relationships with players and coaching staff to optimise performance both out of and in season. They drive the Women’s Senior provision forwards in collaboration with the wider Sport Science & Medicine team and are committed to their ongoing professional development.
Main Responsibilities:
- To Maximise players physical performance across the entire season along with individual
management of off-season performance through international series and oversees
competitions/opportunities. - To develop, deliver, monitor and track strategies to reduce time loss injuries
- Confident, Accurate and effective assessment, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and
overall management of Women’s Senior cricketers. - Ensure excellent initial and ongoing communication with Clinical Director, CMO and
coaching staff regarding assessment findings, injury status and management. - Lead and oversee injury management programmes for Women’s senior cricketers and
work with Lead Strength & Conditioning Coach and coaching staff to facilitate return to
play decision making. - Develop and deliver high quality rehabilitation programmes for Women’s senior cricketers
from point of injury to full return to play. - Provide match and training day physical preparation and recovery strategies to optimise
performance. - Work closely with Club’s operations officers, paramedics and wider team to provide
match day and training day emergency care for the Senior squad adhering to both the
standards of the ECB’s and Somerset’s emergency care guidelines. - Undertake Pre-Winter & Pre-season screening for Senior Women’s cricketers in
conjunction with S&C team and liaise with wider SS&M to deliver screening reports and
bespoke programming interventions to optimise performance. - Work with CMO and Clinical Director to ensure all medical Governance is completed and
standards adhered to i.e., cardiac screening - Manage the process of player transfers into / out of The Hundred competition, including
clear documentation and communication trails with external practitioners - Ensure detailed and accurate electronic medical record keeping using ECB notes system
and in alignment with standards set by CSP, HCPC, ECB and Somerset County Cricket
Club - Work closely with external specialists to ensure appropriate and timely onward referral is
completed when appropriate. - Engage with and contribute to the annual SS&M Audit in line with the CPA guidelines.
- Engage and participate with in house CPD and maintain personal CPD to stay up to date
with current best practice in line with governing body standards and to continue driving
the delivery of the service. - Ensure physiotherapy and medical stock is reviewed regularly, and appropriate ordering
of supplies is carried out. - Work with wider SS&M/Player welfare MDT to provide excellent mental health and
wellbeing care. - To ensure the Club’s equity, diversity and inclusion policy and standards are always

including adherence to the staff code of conduct and consistently advocating the
