The Role 

As we embark on a new season, we’re seeking a BLACKCAPS Bowling Coach who shares our passion for cricketing excellence and High Performance.

The purpose of the role is to develop and successfully implement individual bowling programmes for BLACKCAPS contracted players, tour with the team as required and lead on-tour bowling coach support.

Responsibilities

  • Understand each touring bowler’s individual development plans in regards to strengths, weaknesses and specific “work-ons” under the direction of the BLACKCAPS Head Coach
  • Assist in bowling pre-tour preparation of individual squad members
  • Assist in pre match preparations on tour
  • Assist in pre-tour and pre-match scouting of opposition and likely pitch conditions
  • Participate fully in the management team on tour at the direction of the team manager

Experience & Attributes

To be considered for this unique opportunity, our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Significant experience as a bowling coach at an elite level (i.e. International Cricket, and Elite Competitions around the world)
  • A passion for cricket and a thorough understanding of the game and the internal workings of cricket at an international level
  • Strong technical skills that include the ability to generate, direct and manage the implementation of cutting-edge bowling solutions and programmes
  • Great interpersonal judgment coupled with strong and clear communication to convey concepts and strategies effectively
  • A true team player spirit with a natural ability to work well with people; helping and contributing in a positive way to our team environment
  • A level 3 coaching qualification or international equivalent
