PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The role of the U19/Academy Head Coach is to develop and implement a high-performance coaching programme for the Provincial Academy and U19 Age Group squads.

The primary purpose for the position is to have a positive impact in the preparation and coaching of both squad cricketers with the intent of enhancing the individual performance of the identified players as well as build robust integrated talent pipelines (Provincial, National & Professional).

Required Skills & Experience

• In-depth knowledge of performance excellence and Player Performance Plan.
• Ability to Coach and Identify talent at a professional level.
• Ability to identify, prepare and evaluate specialised training programmes and solutions to meet the needs of identified cricketers.
• Ability to enable performance as well as evaluate and monitor progress.
• Understanding of the CSA Long-Term Player Development process.
• Knowledge of the South African domestic cricket system
• Understanding of the challenges of the players within the CSA pipeline.
• Coaching and mentoring principles
• Working knowledge of all related legislation (including but not limited to the OHS Act, Safety at Sports and Recreational Act, etc.).
• Budget planning, expense Management and Control
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Basic Project Management Skills
