Participation & Clubs Officer

About the Role

Based in the South West, this full time position focuses on supporting the promotion and management of cricket in South West & Peel to enhance club infrastructure and ensure positive experiences.

Additionally, it will spearhead school based programs and facilitate the transition to community-based Cricket Blast and junior cricket in South West and Peel.

The goal of this role is to foster sustainable participation and enhance cricket experiences to attract new and younger participants and fans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Cricket Manager South West & Peel to develop annual school engagement strategies for the Region
  • Provide support with the delivery of the national suite of school programs such as Mascots Challenge, Health and Physical Education Program, Sporting Schools and Cricket Blast School Cups and optimise the transition of participants to community cricket including Cricket Blast and Junior Club cricket
  • Assist to build, maintain and leverage relationships with local schools and school ambassadors, as well as District level school networks
  • Ensure all current and local data including key contact information and communication history is accurately recorded in CRM in a timely manner
  • Deliver cricket Professional Development sessions to school ambassadors in the region
  • Work with South West and Peel Associations as well as Clubs to optimise the Junior Cricket Pathway for boys and girls, with a particular focus on Cricket Blast
  • Ensure Cricket Blast volunteers and deliverers in the region have the skills and knowledge to provide quality cricket experiences including achievement of appropriate accreditation
  • Provide practical assistance to local clubs to assist with their development and help maximise their sustainability
  • Work with local clubs to identify and resolve logistical and other issues impacting the effective operation of local cricket in the region
  • Provide support for the delivery of local coach accreditation and other development opportunities in conjunction with the Cricket Manager and the Country Coach & Talent Specialist

Required Skills & Experience
Tertiary qualifications in Education and/or Sport Management (desirable)
Experience and understanding of community level sport and pathways
Strong management, influencing and relationship building skills
Ability to drive, plan and implement strategic objectives
Passion and ability to promote and deliver entry level programs
Working with Children Card - Current
‘C’ class driver’s licence.
