Cricket Shropshire is looking to appoint a full time Community Coach to help grow the game around the county.

The successful applicant will report to the Boards’ Schools and Community Officer working 37.5 hours a week and cover jobs across Shropshire.

The successful candidate will work across primary and secondary schools, diverse communities, disability cricket, Women & Girls cricket and also the County Age Group pathway.

They will be involved in Chance to Shine Primary, STREET and Secondary School programmes, the Board’s bespoke schools programmes and competitions, the Lord’s Taverners Disability programme and community programmes.

The mission statement is to sustain and grow participation in cricket across all sections of the community.

This would include being innovative and creative in exploring new opportunities for growing the game outside the existing traditional formats.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Delivery of a variety of coaching programmes, which cover the following but not exclusive to:
• Chance to Shine Primary School, STREET, and Secondary Schools.
• Cricket Shropshire bespoke schools programmes and competitions.
• Lords Taverners Disability,
• ECB SEND school
• Secondary School,
• Community Programmes
• County Age Group coaching programmes
To deliver cricket in Primary, Secondary Schools, Community settings, SEND/Disability and Pathway.
Working alongside regional and county colleagues supporting cricket in the Community.
To assist in sustaining and growing participation for all segments.
Actively promote and grow the game by working with ECB regional and other county-based
organisations to empower under-represented and disadvantaged communities to take a more active
role in Cricket whether playing, administrating or watching the game.
Supporting National Programmes and local key partners in clubs/ communities to ensure children in
Shropshire have access to and are engaged in the All Stars and Dynamos programmes.
Complete appropriate monitoring & evaluation in line with funding requirements including online
monitoring platforms and finance return tools.
Signpost transition opportunities from new and emerging programmes into mainstream clubs, league
structures and pathway where appropriate.
Be innovative and creative exploring new opportunities for growth in non-traditional formats by
developing tailored programmes with the team to inspire people to take part informally.

HEALTH AND SAFETY AT WORK

The Health and Safety at Work Act states ‘it is the responsibility of every employee to
observe all rules governing health and safety and such safety equipment as provided
must be used’.

Working hours – 8.30 until 4.30pm Mon – Fri but exact working pattern may require
some out of hours incl weekend working based on business needs.
