Assistant Physiotherapist

Main Duties:

  1. Provide matchday physiotherapy coverage at all LCCC Second XI fixtures.
  2. Work within the LCCC Sports Science and Medicine team providing day to day physiotherapy
    support for professional/academy squads during summer and the Academy/EPP and the
    Women squad (If and when applicable) during winter.
  3. Discuss injury findings/concerns with the Head of Sports Science and Medicine or where
    appropriate the Club Doctor at the end of the day/match with any medical interventions
    recorded on the ECB electronic injury database.
  4. Work closely with the Head of Sports Science and Medicine and Club Doctor in the
    management of complex injuries to ensure the highest quality of evidence-based care for the
    LCCC professional and Academy players.
  5. Assist the Head of Sports Science and Medicine and S&C coaches to undertake regular
    musculoskeletal screening and injury risk profiling of the Professional and Academy squad to
    develop individualised personal preparation plans.
  6. Undertake appropriate professional development to enhance and develop knowledge of best
    practice models of injury prevention and management.
  7. Carry out other duties appropriate to the position of Assistant Physio as required for the senior Men’s squad, Academy squad and Women’s squad (If and when applicable).

Required Skills & Experience

Essential
• Current member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists and registration with the Health
Professions Council.
• At least one year post graduate musculoskeletal experience.
• Advanced DBS check will be a prerequisite for the successful candidate
• Experience of working with children and proof of safeguarding training
• An on-going record of CPD with some specific emphasis in sports injury management.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
• The ability to achieve the ECB accredited advanced life support training.
• Full Driving Licence.
• Computer literacy, including MS office and databases.

Desirable
• Experience of working within Elite sports environment providing physiotherapy and
performance services
• Acupuncture Association or Dry Needling accreditation.
• Experience of working independently within the elite sports setting.
• ECB accredited advanced life support training within the past two years.
