Role Summary

The Assistant Coach Female Performance Programme is a key part of the overall Performance and Talent programme at Auckland Cricket. The position will work closely in collaboration with the Head Coach Female Performance Programme to implement a high-performance coaching model aimed at improving the learning environment to support and develop all Auckland Hearts White Ferns, Auckland Hearts contracted players, and identified players of interest in the Auckland Cricket talent programmes.

Alongside our Head Coach Female Performance Programme, the role will assist in leading our female performance programme to develop an inclusive learning environment that allows all individuals and the team to thrive.

This position is a key role in the structure of our Performance and Talent team at Auckland Cricket.

Role Structure

We are interested in expressions of interest from coaches for:

  • A 0.5 FTE (ie 20 hours per week) role aligned to the domestic women’s season (7 October 2024 – 7 March 2025); or
  • Format by format, or campaign specific roles (see indicative season dates below).

HBJS rounds 1-6:  16 November – 15 December

Super Smash: 26 December – 2 February

HBJS rounds 6-10:  8 February – 1 March

Required Skills & Experience
  • Professional playing and/or coaching experience with minimum NZC Level II/III qualification (or international equivalent).
  • Cricket knowledge relating to the technical and tactical requirements of the modern game with a demonstrated history and ability to coach a specific skill set associated with performance cricket.
  • Ability to support the Head Coach in formulating team plans and individual player coaching.
  • A detailed understanding of how an elite sports team operates.
  • Strong relationship building skills that promote effective communication and high-level emotional intelligence towards all key stakeholders, in particular players.
  • A team player who can contribute as part of a collective to the overall objectives for Auckland Cricket.
  • High level of drive, ambition and passion towards professional development and personal growth.
  • Technology skills that align to the demands of modern workplace and professional sporting environments.
