The Position

The Women’s Pathway Strength and Conditioning Coach will significantly impact on the development of cricketers in our Emerging Player Programme. Reporting to the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach, the successful candidate in the role of Women’s Pathway Strength and Conditioning Coach will be a key member of the Science & Medicine team, providing services in our Emerging Players Programme (EPP) and occasional coverage across our other squads.  

The role will be based at multiple grounds across Surrey including but not limited to Cranleigh School and Trinity College. The post holder will be expected to work evenings, weekends and possibly Bank Holidays. Through winter this will include Tuesday evenings, Saturday and Sunday delivery. This role could also require travel throughout the U.K during the Cricket season.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Work collaboratively with the Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach to design, develop and deliver a Strength & Conditioning programme for our EPP players.
  • Attend and provide matchday support at our EPP fixtures, alongside occasional matchday coverage for our Academy and 2nd XI teams.
  • Collect, analyse, interpret and share workload data as appropriate with players and coaches
  • Complete regular player profiling in line with ECB protocols to inform programme design and physical development and subsequently share with relevant parties
  • Work collaboratively with the medical team to deliver high quality injury prevention and rehabilitation programmes
  • Work with the wider MDT support player performance and associated development goals
  • Support local and ECB led clinical/performance/research projects
  • Work collaboratively with ECB staff to co-manage international pathway players.
  • Actively participate in the Women’s Science and Medicine Review process
  • Undertake appropriate professional development to keep abreast of world’s best practice and current evidence-based research.

Essential:

  • Undergraduate Sports Science/S&C degree
  • UKSCA Accreditation (or equivalent, or able to gain accreditation in first 12 months of accepting role)
  • Appropriate professional indemnity insurance
  • Up to date first aid qualification
  • A minimum of two years’ experience working with athletes and in a performance environment
  • Full Driving License

Desirable:

  • A postgraduate qualification in sports science or strength and conditioning
  • ISAK Level 1 Accreditation
  • Experience working in cricket
  • Experience working with female athletes
