About the University of Queensland Cricket Club:
The UQ Cricket Club was established in 1912 and was a foundation sporting club at the University of Queensland. With a rich history of excellence in both men's and women's cricket, the club is known for its commitment to fostering cricket talent in Queensland.
In the 2023/24 Queensland Premier Cricket season UQ Cricket Club entered eight senior men’s teams, two senior women’s teams, and four under-age teams in the Queensland Premier Cricket Competition. The Club also entered senior men’s and women’s teams in local community competitions.
At a junior level the Club has developed a strong junior pathway, that enables a seamless transition into senior cricket, with several hundred juniors playing across various entry level programs and local competitions each season.
UQ Cricket Club is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cricket Operations Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of the club's cricket operations. The newly created role will be responsible for managing all cricket operations, development of players and coaches, and the performance of all teams within the club. This is a senior leadership position, requiring a deep understanding of cricket, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive the club's cricketing vision forward.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and deliver to required timeframes, whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and develop coaching staff and players.
A relevant coaching certification (e.g. Level 3 Cricket Australia Coaching) is highly desirable.
A background in talent identification and player development.
Knowledge of strategic planning and the ability to align cricket operations with an organisation's strategic goals.
Experience working in a university or community cricket club is a plus.
A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive cricketing environment.
