Overview

The Norfolk Cricket Board exists to develop the game of cricket in Norfolk. Our ambition is to retain and increase participation across all pillars of the game. We cover all areas of the game within Norfolk including working closely with our affiliated clubs, supporting open-age and junior leagues, delivering a highly regarded county-age group programme, supporting volunteer development including coaches, officials and club volunteers, running comprehensive school programmes, overseeing ECB or local initiatives/competitions, disability cricket, women and girls' cricket, walking cricket and much more!

We have a dedicated workforce who are determined to make cricket the most accessible sport it possibly can be and help to impact lives across Norfolk.

Norfolk Cricket Board is responsible for performance pathway programmes across Norfolk for players up to age of 18. The Head of Performance Pathway will lead the delivery of the Norfolk Pathway strategy to identify and develop the highest potential cricketers within Norfolk.

To lead the development and delivery of the performance pathway in Norfolk, including the boys Emerging Players Programme. The successful candidate will be required to work some evenings and weekends as the role requires and must be eligible to work in the UK. The role will be supported by other members of thedevelopment team for some  operational and administrative tasks.

Head of Performance Pathway must support the pathway outcomes that have been developed in Norfolk to ensure players have the best possible opportunity to reach their full potential. The successful candidate is required to set an example of excellence and shall be a role model for the coaching framework in Norfolk.

Role Specific Responsibilities
• Oversee the Norfolk Talent Development Framework strategy.
• Devise and manage a performance programme for the boys and girls (up to under 18). Implement it in line with ECB County Partnership Agreement standards and budgets.
• Be an active coach on the talent pathway in Norfolk including being head coach of the boys emerging players programme and another age-group as agreed once in post.
• Support and mentor Norfolk Performance Coaches in County Age Group programmes.
• Create and develop a coaching ethos throughout the pathway that all Coaches will adhere to.
• Developing and implementing coaching plans for county representative squads and Emerging Player Programmes.
• Leading and developing a team of coaches to deliver a quality representative programme.
• Establish strong working relationships with neighbouring First-Class Counties and
Women’s Professional teams to provide a seamless and progressive transition of players into their programmes.
• To oversee a fair and transparent selection process across the representative programmes. This includes providing player feedback as part of the selection process.
• To quality assure the provision of excellent coaching, including the area of coach
development/mentoring, to raise standards in coaching across the pathway and to make regular reports/updates on progress.
• Devise performance measurables and appraise our representative pathway coaches.
• To develop a player talent identification programme to support the development of elite programmes.
• Manage the County Talent Pathway budgets with support of the finance officer.
• Work closely with Norfolk County Cricket Club to ensure a smooth transition between County Age Group Pathway and the County 1st XI environments.
• Main point of contact for pathway cricket in Norfolk.
• Work closely with the ECB National Talent Managers.
• To attend ECB and Norfolk Youth Executive committee meetings as required.
• Always represent Norfolk Cricket Board in a positive and professional manner.

ages and stages of development.

Place of work
The Head of Performance Pathway will have office space at the main board offices which are located at Manor Park, Horsford Cricket Club. Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate will be expected to work at multiple locations across the county and further afield as required to complete the role. Including indoor venues and cricket clubs. The existing County Age Group programme indoor winter sessions take place at Langley Preparatory School, Taverham.

Salary
Depending on experience
Required Skills & Experience
ECB Level 3 qualified coach or above. (Working towards the ECB Level 3 may be considered)
Demonstrate excellent knowledge of the ECB Player Development model and talent identification mechanisms
Be able to demonstrate excellent coaching skills.
Extensive experience of working in development and performance environments.
Experience of working within and running pathway programmes.
Established track record of developing players.
Strong leadership and administrative skills
Proven track record of successfully managing coaches and programmes.
Be able to enthuse, motivate and develop other performance coaches.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to form and retain excellent working relationships and partnerships
Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
Available to travel independently to locations in Norfolk and across the country as required to fulfil the role.
A current member of ECB Coaches Association and hold valid and up to date First Aid and ECB Safeguarding qualifications. (Can be obtained later)
Commitment - Willingness to work unsocial hours, including evenings and weekends
Pay rate
£33,000 - £37,000
