ASSISTANT COACH – SENIOR PROVINCIAL TEAM
Cricket Eastern Cape has an opportunity for an Assistant Coach to the Senior Provincial team. The more important criteria for the appointment is set out below and although not exhaustive, would serve as a guideline in assessing a prospective candidate.
KEY JOB OBJECTIVE:
The role of the Assistant Coach will be responsible, amongst other things, for the preparation, management and performance of the Senior Provincial programme in consultation with the Senior Provincial Head Coach.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key performance areas include but are not limited to the following:
Serve as Assistant Coach to the Senior Provincial team.
Oversee the Senior Provincial programme with the intent to optimize performance and the development of all identified cricketers.
Identify new talent, optimize player development and make recommendations to enhance the senior cricket system.
Demonstrate exemplary leadership behaviour, through personal development, commitment and dedication in support of organizational values.
Ensure that support systems and structures for the cricketers are enhanced to sustain adequate performance standards.
Perform other reasonable duties as required by the Eastern Province Franchise pipeline including ad hoc project involvement.
Provide a link between the Academy and Senior Provincial players.
Be actively involved in the talent identification of Club Cricket players within the Eastern Province Region.
Manage the planning process and ensuring that each identified cricketer has a plan aligned to the deliverables of the PPP
Work closely with the Provincial Coach to establish and approve the planned outcomes of the PPP for each identified cricketer
Job Details
At least 3 years’ cricket coaching experience;
Experience in having played first class cricket will be an advantage;
Experience in the use of data and video analysis systems will be an advantage;
Good mentoring and motivational skills;
Developed knowledge in talent identification;
Ability to work with players from different backgrounds across cultural identities
