County Safeguarding Officer

Reporting to the Head of Safeguarding, County Safeguarding Officers act as the point of contact for safeguarding cases across allocated areas of responsibility and use Yorkshire Cricket’s case management system to ensure accurate and robust records are kept. With a key role in the development, implementation and delivery of safeguarding training, the post holder will also act as an Event Safeguarding Officer, as required.

Safeguarding is a critical function within the People and Culture team, and we are looking for an experienced Safeguarding Officer to support the successful implementation of our safeguarding strategy across both the professional and recreational game. Our vision is to be recognised as best-in-class across the sporting sector and beyond.

This role is open to flexible working arrangements, including hybrid working. County Safeguarding Officers are required to travel countywide at times, as well as working on evenings and weekends when required.

Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 years experience of safeguarding gained through relevant undertaking and management of casework e.g., Police, probation work, social work, education, and other sporting bodies
Strong understanding of the different forms of behaviour that can occur within and outside of sport that are harmful to children and adults
An understanding of the relevant legislation and Government guidance relating to safeguarding
Experience and understanding of local safeguarding pathways and frameworks for managing safeguarding concerns, for both children and adults
Experience of multi-agency working
Experience of working with a volunteer workforce
