Premier Men Head Coach

Parnell Cricket Club Inc. (PCC) is looking to appoint a men’s Head Coach for the 2024/2025 season and beyond.

PCC is the oldest cricket club in NZ being formed and affiliated in 1858. It is also one of the most successful with over 40 NZ representatives over the years. PCC currently has two BLACKCAPS and another player representing the Auckland Aces. The club also has two players involved in the Hearts program and multiple representing Northern Districts in different squads. Development of youth players is an important club focus, with a strong representation in the Auckland Cricket Academy.

Our Men's Premier side continues to perform strongly winning the T20 competition last season, finishing second in the Hedley Howarth Trophy (2-day) and reaching the semi-finals of the Jeff Crowe Cup (1-day). PCC is proud of its success and aspires to build on and grow this in the upcoming season.

PCC currently has over 750 members and is based in a prime location on Shore Road in Remuera. PCC has recently renovated its clubrooms and Auckland Council has recently upgraded the grounds to a high standard. The club opened a 3-lane indoor centre of excellence in 2010 – the Terry Jarvis Centre (TJC). These facilities enable an outstanding level of coaching to all PCC members from our experienced team of professional coaches. The club is governed by a Board of 6 directors each with a high level of experience and capability. Operationally, the club is led by a General Manager of whom the Head Coach reports to.

The Head Coach role is primarily responsible for the identification and development of the men’s premier team and players and will encompass the following:

  1. PCC Head Coach including coach of the Men’s Premier Team. Attendance at all Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday PCC Men’s Premier matches.
  2. Organisation and management of Men’s Premier team practices (Tuesday and Thursday nights).

This role will be for 7 months of the year, with the first season from 1 September 2024 to 31 March 2025. A competitive salary will be paid along with kiwisaver, performance incentives and preferential rates for the TJC indoor centre.
